Our faith teaches that revelation is not sealed and that we have the agency to shape the future. In a time when our power feels dwarfed by the scale of change needed, movement strategist Malkia Devich-Cyril says “there is no way we gonna wake up and just feel good. That’s not available. What is available is feeling extraordinary purpose, finding moments of joy, being in relationship, [and] giving to the society, to the people, to the land.”  How do we shape the future with what’s available to us right now?

Rev. Cathy Rion Starr (they/them) is a queer white minister, organizer, and parent.  Cathy became a UU at FUCSJ in 2000 and is grateful for the ministry of this congregation.  Cathy now lives in Southern Delaware and serves as Leadership Development Specialist for Side with Love on UUA Staff.  Cathy is a graduate of Starr King School for the Ministry and Stanford University and has served as a parish minister on both coasts. Cathy also loves singing, crochet, dark chocolate, gardening and being silly.
