Black banner with a candle, and the words "Transgender Day of Remembrance." The words and the candle graphic are all written in light blue, pale pink, and white--the colors of the transgender flag.

Trans Day of Remembrance is a day filled with much mourning—both for trans folx and for those who have loved the fallen.

Black Trans Lives Matter—and all trans folx, especially those of color, experience disproportionate worldwide violence. In America, the most vulnerable and attacked subset of our population are trans folx—and especially Black trans women. A society cannot claim to be truly just and a place where all can thrive unless it protects trans lives.

ALL trans folx have prophetic voices, if society will only listen, and all trans folx are bright beacons of courage and authenticity. Join us as we explore the theology/philosophy of allyship, mourn and honor the dead, and offer concrete ways to aid the trans folx who continue to fight for their identities, their body autonomy, and their very lives.

Our Special Collection this month goes to the LGBTQ Youth Space. You can donate at https://sanjoseuu.org/connection/donate/ and make a note: “Nov. Special Collection.”
