MULTI-PLATFORM Service!
On this Sunday, we begin with a particular anniversary and build from there to our own intentions about human rights, agency, and freedom. The anniversary we lift up is January 22, 1973, when the United States Supreme Court affirmed a woman’s right to reproductive choice in Roe v. Wade. Forty-nine years later, these rights are being debated and endangered once again. Though the topic at the core of this case is a tender one, we can find our way toward clarifying our own intentions and putting them into action.
The music includes hymns #119, “Once to Every Soul and Nation,” and #1031, “Filled with Loving Kindness,” sung as a round, along with the Rainbow Women’s Chorus recording of “What Happens When a Woman Takes Power.”
Does this theme sound more “political” than “spiritual” to you? Come hear how the spirit of our faith calls us to the “work of the people.”
For this MULTI-PLATFORM Service, up to 40 people, all masked and vaccinated, can attend in the sanctuary—NO RESERVATION REQUIRED. We have plenty of room!
Other members, friends, and guests can join us online at this Zoom link:
