When so much is wrong in the world it can feel incredibly overwhelming—we may want to retreat from it to avoid falling into a pit of despair. But as James Baldwin wrote, “Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.” How can we face that pain in a way that doesn’t overwhelm us, but grounds and inspires us to act for a better world.
