“Creeds and Deeds”

This Sunday, we explore the creeds of various faith traditions that parallel ‘The Golden Rule’ and share how people of faith are challenged to use our Time, Talents & Treasures to impact the lives of others.

 

Rev. Steve Pinkston serves as an associate pastor at New Beginnings Community Church in San Jose, where he is involved with the teaching ministries and coordinates prison and jail outreach ministries. Rev. Pinkston was a high school teacher (Science, Mathematics and Religious Studies), coach and administrator for 43 years. He retired from Bellarmine College Preparatory where he served as the Christian Service Director and moderator of the African American Student Union, the Bike Club and the AGAPE Club.

Rev. Pinkston holds a B.A. in Biology from Pomona College, an M.A. in Education from Claremont Graduate University, an M.A. in Theology from the University of San Francisco and has studied at the University of Nairobi in Kenya. He serves as a board member for Recovery Café, a senior fellow with American Leadership Forum of Silicon Valley, and is an active leader with PACT (People Acting in Community Together) and the Silicon Valley Faith Leaders Collaborative.

Pinkston has been married to Lenora Clease Pinkston for 42 years. This union has been blessed with two children and two grandsons, Michael and Kai, who are joys in all of their lives.
