This is a service about change. Greek philosopher, Heraclitus once said, ‘The only thing constant in this world is change.’ Buddhists have a similar take, citing ‘impermanence’ as a more accurate descriptor of what we often call ‘reality.’ This is why the third noble truth says suffering is inevitable – because we get so attached to the way things are. Before we can get to anything resembling enlightenment, we have to accept the rhythms of change.
